Miguel Vale de Almeida
Miguel Vale de Almeida is an Associate Professor at the Department of Anthropology of the Escola de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of ISCTE-IUL, and a researcher at the Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA). He has a PhD in Social Anthropology from ISCTE-IUL, a Master's degree in Anthropology from the State University of New York, and a degree in Anthropology from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (UNL). His main areas of research are: gender, sexuality and post-colonialism. He is the author of, among other works, “Senhores de Si – uma interpretação antropológica da masculinidade” (Lisboa: Fim de Século, 1995) and “A Chave do Armário – homossexualidade, casamento, família” (Lisboa: Imprensa de Ciências Sociais, 2009), besides various chapters in books and articles in specialized journals.
