Antónia Pedroso de Lima has a PhD in Anthropology from ISCTE (2001). She is a Professor at ISCTE's Department of Anthropology since 1989. She is the president of the Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA). Her areas of expertise are: family relations in contemporary societies, social relations in urban contexts, the elites, family businesses, gender, sexuality, care, emotions, migrations and intangible heritage. She has coordinated several scientific research projects, and had many of her works published in scientific journals worldwide. She has studied the Portuguese family in urban contexts, covering a wide range of realities, from the popular districts of Lisbon to the families of the Portuguese business elite. Currently, her research focus on the subject of care and situations of crisis and precariousness.
