Professor in the Department of Anthropology and in the Graduate Program in Social Sciences at UERJ. Doctor and Master in Social Anthropology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France. Associate Researcher at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie Politique (LAP) of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. Develops research on transformations in the global scientific field, with emphasis on international academic circulations between North and South. Among its theoretical lines are the Anthropology of Emotions, Political Anthropology, the Anthropology of Institutions and the Social History of Knowledge. He is the founding editor of Revista Novos Debates of the ABA, co-chair of the Commission on Migration of the IUAES and co-chair of the Task Force on Precarity of the WCAA.
